Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups boiling water

Instructions
Step 1: Boil Raisin Mixture
- Combine sugar, boiling water, lard, cinnamon, salt, and raisins in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Cool the Mixture
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool completely.
Step 3: Mix Batter
- Once cool, stir in baking soda.
- Gradually add sifted flour and mix until well blended.
