Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage with Bacon and Apples

Sweet Sour Red Cabbage
Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage is a classic European-inspired side dish known for its balance of tangy vinegar, sweetness, and savory richness. Often associated with German and Eastern European cuisine, this dish pairs beautifully with roasted meats and hearty meals. The combination of apples, onions, and cabbage creates a layered flavor profile, while bacon adds a subtle smokiness that deepens the dish. The slow simmering process allows the cabbage to become tender and absorb the sweet-and-sour sauce, resulting in a comforting and vibrant side. Its bright color and bold flavor make it a standout addition to fall and winter meals, especially during festive gatherings.
