Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs frankfurters (or any smoked sausage)
  • 1-2 cans beer
  • 2 onions (large, sliced)
  • 2 carrots (large, sliced)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Optional:

  • 2-3 cups sauerkraut
  • beer for sauerkraut if serving

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Sausages

  • Place frankfurters in a large saucepan.
  • Add enough beer to cover the sausages.

Step 2: Add Vegetables & Seasoning

  • Add sliced onions, carrots, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan.

Step 3: Simmer the Mixture

  • Bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes, depending on sausage size.

Step 4: Prepare Sauerkraut (Optional Side Dish)

  • Rinse sauerkraut with cold water and drain well.
  • Place in a saucepan and cover with beer.
  • Simmer until beer is absorbed.
  • Serve hot alongside the sausages.
