Rice Consommé is a simple yet savory baked rice side dish, blending the rich, buttery flavor of sautéed onions and mushrooms with the deep, comforting taste of beef consommé. A dash of Worcestershire sauce and fresh ground pepper add depth, making it a versatile pairing for poultry, beef, or pork. The dish is baked until the rice is tender and infused with all the flavors, resulting in a moist, flavorful side that’s easy enough for weeknights yet elegant enough for holiday tables.

- Stir in sautéed celery or bell pepper for added vegetables and aroma.
- Replace butter with half butter / half olive oil to lighten saturated fat.
- For deeper flavor, brown the onions in butter before baking.
- Add fresh herbs like thyme or parsley after baking for brightness.
- Turn it into a meal by adding cooked beef, chicken, or mushrooms.
- Prepare ahead and refrigerate unbaked; bake when needed (add 5 to 10 minutes).
- Great as a holiday or roast-dinner side dish next to beef, pork, or poultry.
