  • 1 cup cottage cheese (cream-style )
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup butter or margarine ( or margarine)
  • 2 pkg dry yeast
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions
 

Step 1: Heat Wet Ingredients

  • Combine water, cottage cheese, honey, and butter in a saucepan.
  • Heat until mixture is very warm (120–130°F), but not boiling.

Step 2: Mix Initial Dough

  • In a large bowl, combine warm mixture with 2 cups of the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and egg.
  • Beat with a mixer or by hand for 2 minutes until smooth.

Step 3: Add Remaining Flour

  • Stir in remaining whole wheat flour and all-purpose flour gradually to form a stiff dough.

Step 4: First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 45–60 minutes.

Step 5: Shape and Bake

  • Punch down the dough and shape into two large or four small loaves.
  • Place in greased pans.
  • Let rise again until nearly doubled.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes, or until golden and sounds hollow when tapped.
