  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp peanut butter (heaping)

  • Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue cooking until it reaches the soft-ball stage (about 235°F/113°C on a candy thermometer).

Step 4: Add Flavorings

  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, butter, and peanut butter.

Step 5: Beat Until Thickened

  • Beat the mixture until it begins to lose its gloss and starts to thicken.

Step 6: Pour and Cool

  • Pour into a greased 8×8-inch pan. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
