The Egg and Sausage Quiche is primarily associated with French cuisine, as quiche originates from France, most famously from the Lorraine region. • This quiche reheats well, if made in advance.

Tips

If you’re interested in a lighter version of this quiche, consider the following modifications:
  • Use low-fat cheeses: Opt for reduced-fat Swiss and cheddar cheeses to decrease saturated fat content.
  • Choose lean sausage: Select turkey or chicken sausage instead of traditional pork sausage to reduce fat and calorie intake.
  • Substitute cream: Replace light cream or evaporated milk with low-fat milk or a plant-based alternative to lower calorie and fat content.
  • Increase vegetables: Add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms to boost fiber and nutrient content while adding volume.
