Instructions

  • Beat eggs, gradually adding sugar.
  • Beat until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  • Add to egg mixture.

Step 3: Heat Milk & Butter

  • Heat milk and 1 tbsp butter to boiling point.
  • Add to batter along with vanilla.
  • Mix lightly until smooth.

Step 4: Bake the Cake

  • Pour batter into a greased 8×8-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes or until golden.

Step 5: Make the Topping

  • Mix brown sugar, cream, butter, coconut, and pecans.
  • Heat mixture until well blended and slightly thickened.

Step 6: Broil the Topping

  • Spread topping on warm cake.
  • Broil for 3–5 minutes until golden and bubbly.
