Ingredients
- 1 lb Round steaks (cut 3 inches thick)
- 2 onions (medium)
- 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms
- 6 stalks celery
- 1/4 lb fresh spinach (about 2 cups)
- 1 bunch green onions
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 10 oz bamboo shoots
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cube beef bouillon
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 to 4 cups hot cooked rice
Instructions
- With sharp knife, slice round steaks very thin, cutting across the grain.1 lb Round steaks
- Peel and slice onions and mushrooms.1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, 2 onions
- Cut celery into 1 inch lengths.6 stalks celery
- Chop spinach coarsely.1/4 lb fresh spinach
- Cut scallions in half, lengthwise, leaving about 2 inches of green on top.1 bunch green onions
- Heat oil in heavy skillet and add meat. Cover and cook over low heat until tender but not browned.3 tbsp olive oil
- Add onions, mushrooms, celery, spinach, scallions and bamboo shoots. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring several times.10 oz bamboo shoots
- Combine water, bouillon cube, soy sauce and sugar. Mix well and add to meat and vegetables.1/2 cup water, 1 cube beef bouillon, 1/3 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar
- Continue cooking for 15 minutes.
- Serve over rice3 to 4 cups hot cooked rice

- You may cook sukiyaki in an electric skillet with temp at medium-low.
