Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Round steaks cut 3 inches thick
  • 2 onions medium
  • 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms
  • 6 stalks celery
  • 1/4 lb fresh spinach (about 2 cups)
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 10 oz bamboo shoots
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 to 4 cups hot cooked rice

Instructions
 

  • With sharp knife, slice round steaks very thin, cutting across the grain.
  • Peel and slice onions and mushrooms.
  • Cut celery into 1 inch lengths.
  • Chop spinach coarsely.
  • Cut scallions in half, lengthwise, leaving about 2 inches of green on top.
  • Heat oil in heavy skillet and add meat. Cover and cook over low heat until tender but not browned.
  • Add onions, mushrooms, celery, spinach, scallions and bamboo shoots. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring several times.
  • Combine water, bouillon cube, soy sauce and sugar. Mix well and add to meat and vegetables.
  • Continue cooking for 15 minutes.
  • Serve over rice

Alernate

  • You may cook sukiyaki in an electric skillet with temp at medium-low.
