  • 45 oz red beans (or pinto beans, undrained)
  • 4 oz mild green chilies (diced)

  • 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

Step 1: Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2: Cook the Sirloin

  • Cook ground sirloin in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 8 minutes, stirring often, until browned.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer meat to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Step 3: Sauté the Onion

  • Discard excess drippings.
  • Add vegetable oil and chopped onion to the same skillet.
  • Cook for about 2 minutes until slightly soft, stirring constantly.

Step 4: Combine Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine beans (with liquid), green chilies, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, garlic, chili powder, and salt.
  • Stir in the cooked sirloin and sautéed onions.

Step 5: Bake

  • Transfer mixture to a 13x9-inch baking dish or a 3-quart casserole dish.
  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 50 minutes until bubbling and heated through.
