  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • cups brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • cup milk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups oats
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (or more )

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cream Fats and Sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the shortening, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients

  • Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Add vanilla extract and milk. Mix until smooth.

Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon.

Step 4: Mix Dry with Wet

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring to combine.

Step 5: Add Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

Step 6: Bake

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.
