Beef Brisket
This classic beef brisket recipe reflects a simple, no-fuss approach to slow cooking that became popular in mid-20th-century American kitchens. Using minimal ingredients, primarily onions, spices, and a tightly covered Dutch oven, the method allows the meat to braise in its own juices, creating a tender, flavorful result without added liquid. The inclusion of horseradish as a serving suggestion hints at traditional European influences, particularly Jewish and Eastern European preparations where brisket is often paired with sharp condiments. The long, slow bake transforms a tough cut into a rich, comforting centerpiece, making it a dependable choice for hearty family meals.
