Ingredients
  

  • 8 onions (medium, peeled)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese (grated )
  • 1 cup croutons (crushed)

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare Onions

  • Cut out the centers of each peeled onion to form a hollow shell. Leave the outer layers intact. Finely chop the removed center pieces.

Step 2: Sauté Onion Centers

  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion centers and sauté until golden brown.

Step 3: Mix Filling

  • Remove from heat.
  • Add salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and crushed croutons.
  • Mix until well combined.

Step 4: Stuff Onions

  • Spoon the filling mixture into the hollowed onions, packing gently.

Step 5: Bake

  • Place the stuffed onions in the center of a 24x18-inch piece of heavy-duty foil.
  • Seal foil and place it in a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 1½ hours.

Tips

  • Use seasoned panko or breadcrumbs if croutons aren't available.
  • Add cooked crumbled bacon or sausage for a meatier version.
